Oppression from the east & the west

“Islam Hates Us”, Photography & Film, 2018

“Islam Hates Us” was created as an act of silent protest against the current president of the United States. In the western world, the Hijab is a pseudonym for ‘oppression’. Any woman wearing it is thought to be voiceless and covered up against her will. Americans encourage and prefer women without their veils. But the hijab is a thing of beauty and modesty for many muslim women. However, in the eastern world there are rules and regulation that dictate what women should wear. My photography is an attempt to voice the paradox and concern that shrouds over what women are allowed to do with their bodies.
